outlining some actual Custom applications executed by Emerging
Technologies, LLC. for our customers. These descriptions are in Brief format
and are designed to provide a quick & simple validation of some
of our experience. Click on the link above the short description

Electrical Bushing RIV/Hipot Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to provide a replacement RIV/Hipot test system for electrical bushings.
The existing Faraday cage, product test tanks, and high voltage switches were to be re-used. Up to 100KV was
required for Hipot testing and 30KV for RIV (Radio Influence Voltage) testing.
Recloser Control Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build an automated recloser control test system. The
new system required functionality to replace an existing system and new functionality to support testing of another
product model.
Functional Test Fixture Fabrication
Emerging Technologies, LLC. has been called upon to provide functional test fixture fabrication for different
products based on customer-provided designs and/or specifications. The customer provided the electrical design
and test systems programming.
Enhanced Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build an automated test system based on a
combination of previous designs.
Duplicate Assembly Carts
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to provide nine additional Automated Assembly Carts, duplicate to the
prototype previously developed by Emerging Technologies.
Recloser Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build an automated recloser test
system based on an existing system. The new system required new functionality to support
testing of a new product model.
APU Distribution Panel Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop and build a custom APU Distribution Panel Tester.
A basic manual design with DUT matched interface connectors for simple manual interconnection was required.
The operator will connect the product to the tester and operate the product functions while watching for
correct feedback on the tester.
Test System Retrofit
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to retrofit an existing engineering style test system
into a production floor style system.
Tilting Fixture Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build a functional test system with a tilting fixture.
Cost was to be kept down by designing a manually operated system with the capability to be automated in the future.
Automated Assembly Cart
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build an automated assembly cart.
The cart design was to include the ability to rotate clockwise and counter clockwise, as well as raise and
lower to accommodate different product models and operator height and working preferences.
Custom Burn-In Chassis
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build custom burn-in chassis for circuit board based products.
The chassis were to be designed to fit in a 19” rack mounted inside an environmental chamber.
Concept to deployment schedule was expected to be short.
Embedded Functional Test System Refurbish
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to repair and refurbish a pair of existing embedded testers.
The existing testers had fallen into disrepair and the original manufacturer of the systems was no longer doing business.
Hall Effect Sensor Calibration System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a calibration system based on an existing customer prototype.
The system was to calibrate Hall Effect sensors with ranges from 37A to 420A.
Docking Station PCB Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC was called upon to develop a test system for a printed circuit board that
would be installed in a docking station assembly. The product required automated testing.
Medium Voltage Contactor Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a functional test system for a medium voltage contactor.
The system incorporated a customer-supplied fixture and other hardware. The system test requirements included
pickup tests and HiPot test. The provided fixture incorporates two DUT test locations to run pick-up and HiPot
tests simultaneously (pick-up test in one location and HiPot test in the other).
OEM Relay Interface Board
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a circuit board that would interface TTL level
control outputs with 24VDC field hardware. Additionally, field inputs and discrete communication points
were to be routed through the interface.
Modular Production Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to build a duplicate system to one previously provided by
Emerging Technologies. Additionally, the system required the integration of a three-phase AC power
source for testing three-phase product. The new three-phase panel is mobile for use with the automated
test system (via GPIB interface) or elsewhere under manual control.
High Current Test Lab DAQ and Control System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to generate a functional specification for and develop a
high speed data acquisition and control system for a high current test lab. The specifications
required the system utilize off-the-shelf technology where possible. The system was required to
measure and control events drawing up to 80k amps at up to 800VAC.
High Voltage Isolation interface
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a high voltage isolation interface. The new interface
isolates up to 10,000 VAC HiPot tester voltage from remote sense measurement hardware, used during functional
test, while the DUT undergoes HiPot testing.
Automatic Transfer Switch Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop and build a pair of functional test systems for
a new addition to an existing line of automatic transfer switches including single phase and three
phase units. Additionally, the customer required the new systems be backwards compatible with existing
products.
Pressure At Power Verification System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a test system for electrically operated air
pressure based products. The new system was to be based on an existing system re-using some of the
existing components. New components were used where higher accuracies were required. Additionally,
the new system was expected use a smaller enclosure requiring less space in the lab.
Manual Test Console
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to build a manual version of an automated test system control
console previously provided by Emerging Technologies. The new system was to be built at a reduced cost by
reducing size and automation components. The majority of the functionality would remain through manual
operations and the connection of a notebook computer provided by the customer. The power system and DUT
fixture were provided by the customer.
Environmental Chamber Pressure Control Panel
Emerging Technologies, LLC was called upon to modify an existing pressure / flow measurement panel to
include automated backpressure control. Additionally, the panel was to be configured for use inside an
existing environmental test chamber. Measurements of airflow and pressure, as well as vacuum flow and
pressure, were required. Remote pressure control was required to manipulate the pressure without
compromising the environmental chamber.
Automated Engineering Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC was called upon to add functionality to a test system design for electrically
operated air pressure and flow based products. In addition to the functionality of the existing Engineering
Test System, new features included computer-controlled pressure and motor speed and an automated testing
sequence that would remove user interaction required for numerous tests. The control for the added
functionality was added to the current user interface.
Field Module Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a test system for a motor field control module.
The customer requested a stand-alone, non-PC based system. The test requires up to 600Vdc at up to
42 amps into a resistive/reactive load. Special custom signal generation, including configurable
PWM, was required. Additionally, a manual test mode was required.
Cover Control Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a test system for a line of
cover control sub-assemblies. Sensing color, intensity, and blink of LEDs was required.
Embedded Multi-Speed Fan Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop an embedded functional test system
for a multi-speed cooling fan sub-assembly.
Production - End Of Line Functional Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to manufacture an end of line functional test system
for an air flow and pressure based product.
Portable Field Module Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC was called upon to design and build two identical custom field module test
systems based upon the customer’s existing in house test system.
Electo-Mechanical Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build an Electro-mechanical Sub-assembly
Test System capable of testing eight separate units simultaneously and independently.
Portable Calibration, Programming, and Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build a custom Calibration, Programming,
and Test System for a PIC16F72 based product.
Engineering Test System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a test system for electrically
operated air pressure and flow based products. Accurate measurement of flow, pressure,
vacuum, temperature, and barometric pressure of air with correction to standard flow was
required. Additionally the system required control of AC voltage and frequency, DC voltage,
as well as, metering of voltage, current, frequency (AC only) and power.
320 Channel Data Acquisition
System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a 320-channel data acquisition system
for an accelerated life cycle test system. The specification called for
an accurate, noise immune, easy to configure system. Additionally, the system needed to
support the future addition of more channels.
Stand Alone Embedded Test
System
Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a stand alone, portable
test system for a pcb-based sub-assembly.

Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to design and build a custom
control console to control a medium voltage test system. The power system
and DUT Fixturing was provided by the customer

data, generate microcontroller source code based on the data,
assemble the code, program the microcontroller, and test the
programmed device.
